Tips to help kittens with adjustment to new home.
Upon arrival to new home take kitten directly and place in the litter box. This will help greatly in the litter box training. All kittens are litter box trained when they leave here.
Have a fairly large open (no lid) litter box.
Use clay litter.
Kittens get dry Purina Pro plan kitten food and fresh water available to them 24/7.
Also get a small can of wet food. We use Fancy Feast turkey. Only chicken or turkey for wet food until older. Anything like tuna, ocean white fish etc. is too strong for their little belly’s and will cause diarrhea.
They get the wet food every morning which is how I give them their daily vitamin. I provide a sample of the vitamin and all info to purchase. You can purchase vitamin thru NuVet by calling 1-800-474-7044 or www.nuvet.com/58898.
In the beginning have their food/water and litter box in a small area. Giving them to big an area until they are comfortable with their new surroundings will over whelm their little self.
Offer them a scratching post to have “their place” to do what comes natural to them. If you see them “clawing” on an inappropriate item, scruff them, with a stern NO, and take over to the scratching post. MC’s are very smart so train easily.
Give kitten time to adjust to new sounds, smells, activity etc. If kitten sneezes it is getting use to new smells such as carpet, colognes, fabric softeners etc.
Be patient with your new arrival and enjoy many love filled years with your new furry friend.
